Required reading for fans of Gene Tierney, or anyone interested in mental health care in the 1950s. The author presents an honest, first-person account of her mental health issues, including what it was like to get electro-shock therapy. Because the book was published in 1979, and the author was raised in an era when most people kept their private lives private, this is not a tell-all in the sense that many of today's autobiographies are. Tierney admits to dating John F. Kennedy and Prince Aly Khan, but does not say whether the relationships were sexual. There are no sexual details and no obscene language. The book is appropriate for ages 13 & over.
