    Good Solid Western Worth Watching

    I’ve seen hundreds of westerns over the years. Many are downright bad films. They don’t work on so many levels. Some are absolute classics and are among the best films ever made. This one is above average and worth watching. Is it among the best ever made? No. To compare it with The Searchers, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, The Bad, the Ugly, Unforgiven, The Wild Bunch, Outlaw Josey Wales (to name a few) is ridiculous. The Naked Spur is not in the same league as these classic, superb, magnificent western films. But it is worth watching as a solid western movie that is far superior to the hundreds (if not thousands) of mediocre B westerns that have been made over the years.

    Very entertaining, and the pace keeps you interested.

    I've always been a fan of Jimmy Stewart, he is a fine and credible one. The other actors do well in this movie in a supporting cast. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends.
