I bought this book, because more and more, the "Frankoma" books are getting harder to find, and when you find them, they are pricey. This book includes trademarks, a brief history, clay types, glaze identification and color samples, and information on the artists. The book also includes some pages from old catalogues and magazine ads. I love Frankoma, and it's intriguing to see the variety of art pottery that I suspected were Frankoma, but weren't marked. Also, there are so many pieces that I had no idea were Frankoma. There IS price guide, but we don't pay any attention to those where we are. We are in what is called a "picking" state - meaning that people can "pick up" great collectibles and antiques at really low prices. Consequently, the prices in the collector books are way over what we can get for the same items. All in all, it is still a great and informative book!Read full review
This is a great book for helping me to identify my Frankoma pottery. The fact that it's signed by the author makes me value it more and I'm happy to add it to my collection of reference books on glass. It has great pictures and a lot of information on the history of Frankoma pottery.
This book is even nicer than I had expected!I read that this book gave a basic synopsis of Frankoma pottery, and Gary Schaum was the best author for this type of guide. But I was surprised how thorough this book was.It answered all my questions that I had about dating and values. It was written in a straight forward and easy to understand manner.
Love the book

This book, Collector's Guide to Frankoma Pottery, is exactly what I was looking for. It has good pictures of Frankoma Pottery & has helped me identify several pieces by name, age, and value. The history of the company is also included and is very interesting. Good book.
The book was not as informative as I would have liked. It did not have examples of the different glazes in an easy to understand format. It contained mostly replicas of older black and white catalog pages. Interesting but not as difinitive of a guide as implied by other reviews.
Decided to purchase this book about collecting Frankoma pottery. I am a new collector and needed a good reference book. the book I bought is an excellent resource and Ia am thrilled with it.
