Contains graphic sex and violence. The R-rated version is shorter by 53 minutes!

    Great 70's film!

    Excellent portrayal of how the rich lived in ancient rome. I love this movie, I saw the r rated version many years ago, and I was shocked by the unrated version and extra footage. Although the new footage is shocking it makes the film flow much better with the original footage. It is excellent and a true 70's gem. I don't know how this film avoided the DPP's Video Nasty list of banned films in 1983, but I'm sure if it were released this way it would be banned! Take this one with an open mind anf enjoy this outrageous, nostalgic piece of celluloid history!

    Good portrayal of a very weird situation

    The settings and acting was very good but the subject matter did creep me out a bit at times.

    Shocking; worthwhile; not for the faint of heart.;

    A stand-out movie, with riveting performances, of a very riveting era. Brings to life a fantasy-like scenario of decadence and debauchery in an almost unimaginable time of power, wielded by by a few with not the most puritanical of outlooks. Entirely beliveable, nontheless shocking.
