The Last Days is difficult reading on many levels. But it's also well written and researched. A must read for any fan of the Beatles or John Lennon.

Book parallels Lennon's fleeting time on earth with the specter of Mark David Chapman looming in the background and preparing for a senseless killing of a peaceful musical genius rediscovering more hidden musical talent to come. He finished Double Fantasy and even signed a copy for the murderer several days before. The Beatles helped the nation heal following the JFK assassination in 1963. Their tours in 1964 and 1965 brought their music and healing joy to a country still deep in mourning. And Lennon led the way as always.
