Da er selbst der Gruppe der behinderten Menschen angehoert, verwendet er grossen Raum darauf, Menschen zu ermutigen, trotz widrigster Umstande etwas aus sich und seinem Leben zu machen. Bleibe nicht unter deinen Moeglichkeiten! Dieser Imperativ durchzieht auf hartnackige und fordernde Art und Weise das ganze Buch. Es werden einige Beispiele von Menschen gegeben, die es trotz einer koerperlichen Behinderung in die Geschichtsbucher geschafft haben. Dass man nicht unter seinen Moeglichkeiten bleiben sollte, wird aber auch exemplarisch an philosophischen und unternehmerischen Beispielen erlautert. In einem Interview, welches Dethlefs dem Altstipendiatennetzwerk der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung gegeben hat, beschreibt er seine Motivation und macht auch hier Mut. Weiterhin wird dargestellt, wie Dethlefs einen Job-Pool aufbauen moechte, der jedem koerperlich behinderten Menschen eine adaquate Arbeit verschaffen soll. Nach der Lekture wird man die Welt mit anderen Augen sehen!
