I love that this game is just one player. It's pretty cool and I've played it for hours since I got it. If you like multi-player, then it would be best to look elsewhere, but if you plan to play alone, this game is a good fit. There are plenty of options and interesting characters to choose from. Of course, you can create your own character too. This is one of the more entertaining poker game for a very low price. Glad I purchased it.
I bought "World Chanpionship Poker" for my Xbox as I am retired and enjoy playing poker without losing money I cannot afford. I like the ambiance of the game with the sounds of a poker tournement in the background. Game play is flawless and enjoyable. It seems to me that card distrubution is random which I prefer rather than some poker games which are "fixed" rather than random. The only improvement I would like to see is a better method of saving and leaving games before they are completed. A menu with all the choices would be preferable rather than the existing system which goes thru several loops to get what you want.
World Championship Poker is ultimately a decent effort, but only because of its online play. The offline component of the game is simply too pointless and spotty to hold anyone's attention, which basically limits the game's appeal strictly to those who have an Xbox Live subscription. Ultimately, this game is only for the serious poker enthusiast, as casual fans can easily find comparable games just about anywhere on the Internet.
I bought World Championship Poker 2 and was very disappointed. So I looked at this one and decided to see if this is any better. No luck. Both games are below average. Waste of money. When playing Texas Hold 'em you only have a choice to fold, check, or raise a set dollar value. You can not adjust how much you want to raise. Slows down game play. You can't speed through hands that you are not involved in single player mode. Played game for 30 minutes and now looking for better poker game.
it was great.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
This game is definitely for beginners. It lacks the luster of real play. It's easy to play. Good instructions on the audio portion of this.
Price was great........also the service.......bought for my daughter who fell in love with my Pac Man.
Kids like to spend dads money. But I'm sure dad gets most of the enjoyment out of it. Anyhow i wish they would stop sending me these cause they take for ever and i dont see how it helps any I just get stuck typing a bunch of words to fill space.
Pretty good game, and to the reviewer who claimed you cannot raise more then the minimum bet, you can (just push the up arrow)!
This game is boring, I don't like having to wait on a computer operated player. If I hit X, it should skip through them. There are better poker games out there than this one.
