For this reason the precious archaeological and anthropological work made by the Castiglioni brothers is particularly important today. This volume reconstructs, through the almost 50-year career of the two Italian explorers, the deep identity of the Black Continent, from the most ancient traditions to the surprising passing rituals. An important part of the volume is dedicated to the archeological expeditions in Africa, starting with the discovery in the Nubian Desert in Sudan of Berenice Panchrysos, the entirely gold city of pharaohs, quoted by Pliny the Elder in his Naturalis Historia whose traces were lost. A find that the French Academician, Jean Vercoutter considered among the great discoveries of archaeology. AUTHOR: Angelo and Alfredo castiglioni have carried out, for nearly fifty years, research expeditions in the archaeological, anthropological and ethnologic field, most of all making accurate cine-photographic documentations. They have published several books and made five films, distributed in the national and international circuits: Africa sdegreta (1969); Africa Ama (1971); Magia Nuda !1975) with Alberto Moravia's commentary; Addio Ultimo Uomo (1979) with Vittorio Suttafava's commentary; Africa dolce e selvaggia (1982). Based on the seller's description, I'm disappointed. Despite being advertised as clean and without stains, the used book I received has multiple stains throughout and feels sticky to the touch. Even after cleaning, it remains dirty, which is unpleasant. Additionally, the cover has clearly been creased at some point. Overall, it's acceptable, but it doesn't match the description, making it feel overpriced.
