I've been fascinated by Percy Parslow since the early seventies as he was THE man regarding Hamsters. This is a sweet book full of pics for the enthusiast but it perturbs me that he recommends small cages whereas mine are housed in large glass tanks with accessories.I read on the internet that Percy (now deceased) housed his breeding stock in orange washing up bowls from Woolworths (far too small for active animals) and when he died his stock were all put down because he didn't trust anyone to look after them as well as himself.Very sad but since he had 3000 stock plus 250 a day being born, who could take on that. The moral here is think carefully before you breed animals. I think this book is out of date but even so there ARE interesting snippets so yes I would recommend reading as you might find out something you didn't know.I'm sure Percy meant well and he does impart a lot of knowledge.Read full review
