I recently purchased this lens for my real estate work. Due to the wide angle at 10mm, I am able to get the tight indoor shots that I was not able to get before. Because it is a DX Lens and I use a DX body, it is not true 10mm, however it is enough for what I need. The image quality is sharp, however I noticed the shots are not as bright as my prime lenses. It has a f stop of 4 which is plenty for this type of work. I even used this lens for a portrait shoot, in which it turned out decent. I still prefer my 35 mm or even the 50 mm for portrait work, but for Real Estate this is the lens you need!

I bought this wide angle DX lens because I really missed the effect of wide angle on my Nikon D7000. With the smaller sensor of this camera, my old wide angle lens (AF Nikkor 24mm) didn't give me the angle of view that I'm used to seeing on my old film camera. I chose this lens because of its range. This lens focuses quickly and produces great quality images. I just took it on a week long trip to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park and was very pleased with the results so far. It was a little more than I wanted to spend and there were some other options out there, but the 10 to 24mm range is very versatile and the variable aperture is not a problem since I tend to shoot landscape at a smaller aperture anyway. I do see some distortion, especially at 10mm, but I sort of like that look. However, if it bothers you, it can be corrected in post processing. Handholding is easy and comfortable on my D7000 and feels well balanced. It has a nice wide grip for zooming and a smaller focus ring, but with this lens I haven't had to go into manual focus.Read full review
If you do landscapes or building interior photography, you are faced with challenges getting sufficient depth of field or in getting startling results. For interior photography, the challenge is in making rooms look big or in getting depth of field from near objects to far objects hanging on walls. For landscape photography, the challenge is drawing attention to foreground flora/fauna while retaining the grand sweeping views and dramatic skies. This is the one lens in the Nikkor arsenal that can achieve these results for the DX format. As a former film photographer, I made heavy use of Nikon's film equivalent lens: the 15mm Nikkor. The 10-24mm lens has made great strides in reducing apparent distortion at the sides of the scene and in being an f-stop faster. It also is amazingly light weight in comparison and much less bulky to point quickly. To date, the biggest problem I've experienced is the unevenness of circular polarization in skies. I never had this problem using planar polarization with the old 15mm. You might well ask why use a polarizer at all, but color saturation is so vastly improved (especially in my shooting environment of coastal glare), I really don't feel shooting without a polarizer is a good option. If you've never used a superwide angle lens before, keep in mind things closer to the lens appear much larger than things further away. The end distortion to familiar objects—like people—you may not find acceptable until you choose angles that help make the distortion work for you. The beginner's mistake of never moving from eye-level photography is not the best option for framing using this lens.Read full review
I've been, for several years, using several lenses, never really getting the image I want. This one is a game changer. The ease of use, the auto focus and overall clarity of my images are truly astounding. I love this lens. I recommend it to anyone wanting to capture their best landscapes, automobile or even some portraits for that magazine quality look. 😊

I purchased this lense for shooting interior room photos for real estate listings. The lens does an amazing job of allowing most of the room to be included in the photo. Definitely recommend this lense for that type of purpose. See the photo below for an example, this is a small bedroom approximately 8' X 9' but the lens shows the room very well.

The price was great and shipping was right on time, the only downside was there was no documentation with the lens but not a show stopper. Easily downloaded.
