    My new go-to lens

    This lens is on my D7100 Nikon 80% of the time. It replaces a Tokina 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di-II VC LD Aspherical and a 18-200 Nikon. The 16-80 image quality and sharpness far surpass the Tokina even though that lens takes excellent photos. The images are much sharper than the 18-200mm Nikon as well. I would compare the quality of photos of this lens to my 80-200mm f2.8 Nikon only with a little more saturated colors. The VR has consistently allowed me to take crystal clear shots handheld at up to 1/2 second if leaning against a tree. The 16-80, along with my 11-16 Tokina, 80-200 Nikon and 300mm f4 Nikon and 1.7 teleconverter give me a full range of lens with no compromise in image quality.
