Product Information

There's a current that courses through the old Chelsea Hotel, an electricity that drives people relentlessly to create. It's an energy that longtime resident and creator of Living with Legends: Hotel Chelsea Blog Ed Hamilton will tell you often drives inhabitants to madness. Readers enter one of Dee Dee Ramone's flashbacks meet the ghost of author Thomas Wolfe learn of movie star Ethan Hawke's mystical powers over women see the ungodly acts allegedly being perpetrated in the basement club Serena's and feel the dark aura of Room 100, where punk rocker Sid Vicious killed his girlfriend Nancy. Other Chelsea residents past and present who will be included: Ryan Adams, club kid/murderer Michael Alig, Sarah Bernhardt, the Warhol Factory's Richard Bernstein, Victor Bockris, Charles Bukowski, Leonard Cohen, Lesbian activist Storme DeLarverie, Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsberg, Herbert Huncke, Janis Joplin, Jack Kerouac, Madonna, Edgar Lee Masters, Arthur Miller, Edie Sedgwick, Sam Shepard, Patti Smith, Dylan Thomas, and Rufus Wainwright.

I appreciate getting the book, though someone packing the item wasn’t careful and 6 pages had been folded, it’s good to practice to make near more perfect. I appreciate it having arrived, thank you.

I received the book in a paper envelope and unfortunately it was affected by weather becoming wet and damaged. I contacted the seller and explained the circumstances. I was offered two options, 1) return the book for a full refund (seemed wasteful, unable to resell the book, incurs a cost for postage) or 2) receive a partial refund of $5.87 ($25.85 purchase price). I politely declined the offer of an arbitrary partial refund, and suggested that a paper book be posted inside a thin plastic sleeve

  • A great way to pre-game before your trip to NYC!

Interesting book and a light read. I bought this prior to my trip to NYC and I could easily browse thru the book looking for chapter topics that interested me. The writing was solid and well done. Humorous in it's own way. I read a few chapters while waiting for my appt in a Starbucks and it gives a great framework about this storied hotel.
