    Another "Recreation of a former time in WW2 England."

    Another - but different - "spin" on a recreation of social and military events of WW2. It is evidently the director's intent that it would be of interest to show the feelings (not always understood) between the British home front and the arrival of the Yank troops and the value differences expressed on the surface by each group. The screenwriters did a very good job of providing material to the younger Redgrave, Devane, and Gere, not to mention the supporting actors. Not a bad flick.

    One of my favourite World War II movies. Not an action movie, but a very engaging romantic drama. Enjoyed watching great actors: Richard Gere, Vanessa Redgrave and William Devane.
