  • A good pencil for beginners and professionals

I love these pencils, I've been using Crayola for a while, but I was always stunted with the 50 pack, but now there is double that, and I love it! They have a TON of really fantastic colors, particularly the oranges and purples, you can't match that with others like Faber-Castell or Prismacolor, although both have amazing color selections they are lacking in some colors, that is where Crayola comes in. They're really great as complimentary pieces. I find Crayola colors are vibrant, but they are a muted vibrant, they aren't pure colors, they are greyed, but it creates amazing colors, that can't be matched. It's small, but I will also say I love how they were organized, MUCH better than any other company I have bought, which seem to just be jumbled together almost. The actual pencils are good, they are soft, but not so soft they break, they last for AGES, I guess because they are a denser lead, but they last me 3 times as long as other brands that are more waxy and soft. It produces god coverage not too streaky or flaky. The only problem I guess I had was some of the colors, maybe 8, were the ugliest, brightest, most neon colors you've ever seen so they were absolutely worthless. Like not just for a professional artist, but for children, they're unusable, I don't know what they were thinking. It's only 8 of the 100 though, and that said I don't know of any color it is "missing", I can't think of anything I wish it had...Maybe a more rosy clay color. PERSONALLY if you are looking for a GOOD set of professional pencils, get yourself a big set of Prismacolors and then supplement with these, they fill in the gaps nicely. If you are just beginning or looking for a medium set or something, definitely get these, they are WELL worth the price (which is low anyway).
