A wonderful radio
It is not a ghettoblaster. If you're looking for full spectrum sound with rounded mids, highs and lows, this is not the box for you, but if you need a good quality, portable radio with decent sound, then by all means, get one of these. The material seems durable, except for the handle, which is a bit flimsy and excessive transporting of it via the handle will result I it breaking off eventually. The antenna is the tough old school type that you would find on radios back in the day. It has an analog tuner, so there's no preset station feature. Nevertheless the tuner is strong. It picks up signals very well. I haven't tried the CD deck or the headphone jack yet, but the AUX in jack worked great with my cellphone. I have some heavy reggae music on my PC and I copied a few of them to my phone and played them through the radio and I was impressed with the output. It was loud and vibrant. Totally different from the sound I get from playing a radio station. Still, it's nothing near what I get from playing music on my computer, but for the size the music from my phone resonated well through it. My computer is hooked up to a 5000 watt amp, mixer and two speaker boxes, each with dual 18" woofers, a 17" midrange and five 3 1/2" tweeters. The sound I get from my setup I don't expect from this radio, but the output quality is excellent for what it is. It uses eight c batteries, not six as stated in the description. Smaller than I thought it would be,but for the size it has great sound. I had previously ordered a none brand name player for my garage and it was junk. Everything you could want in a compact boombox
Had everything I was looking for. It will run on C batteries....the a/c power cord is detachable, not built in so it can be easilty replaced if anything happens to it, has decent am/fm reception with the adjustable antenna and has a HEADPHONE jack and mp3 jack.....price was more than reasonable as well. Sounds better than expected.
After doing a lot of research on the reviews of this type of compact stereo radio/cd player, I settled on this one. It sounds even better than I expected. The color is nice but it is not important for my use. This is my portable sound for the yard, man-cave or wherever I do projects. It came on time looks just like the picture, BUT the CD does not work. You can be playing a CD and as soon as you as you start to walk the sound fades
