Asus RT-AC68P (used) Great for AiMesh Node
Bought this used: Item came with slight damage to one antenna due to being attached and loosely packed. The router in the picture is most likely a different one although I did receive the same model without the Ethernet patch cord which I didn’t need anyway. It could have been packed better. NICE UNIT EASY SETUP / STAND UP OR MOUNT
Nice unit. There was nothing wrong with my D-Link other than it was slow for the fiber brought in. This one has a higher transfer spd. Works real well. I did not need high security since my home sits inside 50 private acres and no person can get close enough to utilize the wireless w. o. being seen first. I am about to install wireless cameras at the barn 175ft from the home. This will be the test. My galaxy S4 cel used to access the wireless wifi from there with the D-Link. If this unit also has the same range to run the new cameras, then its a true homer. I did look over the security settings and it can be made pretty secure in todays standards. Happy with it so far. Very Good Performance at a Great Price
I studied wireless routers for a while and the RT-AC68P was one of my top three. When I saw the price of this refurbished unit, it was a no brainer. High-end features that actually work
In terms of performance, this router is comparable to its competitors from Netgear, etc., but the web-browser interface is actually a bit nicer and easier to understand. The best part is that the high-end features advertised (such as OpenVPN server, extra security features, etc.) are implemented well and actually usable (unlike many of the same features on the Netgear). The device is also very good-looking/attractive. The one big drawback for me was the lack of wall-mounting holes (I managed to jerry-rig something but not super convenient). it is what it shows new and works just the reboot issue each time you use vpn client
Item works good the only issue is I have to reboot each time I use the vpn client app. My son is electronic engineer and tried several different things to help. One of the best overlooked, LOW priced routers
