Was packed in a large FLAT box that protected the sides and ends,but not adequate for the front and back. This was a carriage clock,and they need protection all around,. Balance staff broken,but as CANT return,will wear it. But seller be advised, these clocks need packing on all sides. You have to pack to post,just make sure that it is adequate for the item.,
