One size doe NOT fit all........
I have a LARGE hat size (for comparison-Most general hats available only go up to size 8-in size 1/8 increments; and I have been fitted for at LEAST a size 8-1/2; or 4 hat sizes more than standard). This hat stretcher is described on the box as fitting sizes 6-1/2" to 9-1/2". This is 6-1/2 INCHES to 9-1/2 INCHES; NOT hat size 6-1/2 to hat size 9-1/2. When I received the item, I tried it out on a size 8-1/4 hat; only to see the item fall apart as the bolts in the middle were simply not long enough to extend the stretcher out to the level needed. It would have been too much of a hassle to return the item; so I ate the cost as a lesson earned.....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Just what I needed
I had an older hat that had shrunk just enough to be tight to the point of being uncomfortable. After steaming and using the stretcher, The hat fits just fine.
