    Good Movie, Great Plot

    The Love Letter was such an interesting movie. I saw it years ago and never forgot it. The characters were engaging and there was plenty of romance and action, but it had such an original plot too it sucked me right in. I loved the supernatural spin on soul mates and how time affects things in different ways. Much better than a lot of the loosely plotted romance movies we get these days. Good watch.

    Sentimental Claptrap

    WOW this was bad. I love C. Scott & JJL and had seen them together in Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle and it was wonderful. So with all of the good reviews I thought how bad could it be? Again, WOW, this was bad even for Hallmark. I wasn't expecting great art from a TV movie and had seen Riding The Bus With My Sister which wasn't that bad, a bit hollow but really not that bad, I thought well this has Campbell Scott & JJL so this is bound to be even better. It was not. The acting was so bad, the script was worse. I will try to resell this on eBay to recover some of my money. If you must see it, rent it from the library (the do cross state transactions for approximately $2). Then and only then should you consider this movie for your personal library and if you do still want it ...

    Compelling Romance

    This is one of my all time favorite Hallmark romances ! Time travel , of course is a fantasy... But , this beautifully thought out and presented film , almost makes you a believer . I was totally captivated by the characters romance , as their love grew through letters ,that traveled from civil war days to present time . How could this unlikely story ,possibly end ? Dim the lights, light a candle , curl up , and get carried away , by this totally charming film !! You'll want to watch it over and over again !!!

    So love Hallmark!

    This is such a great movie and if you child walks in there is nothing to fear with bad language and so forth. This is such a classic love story with a historical twist and super neat! I have watched this a thousand times and I still cannot take my eyes off the screen!

    The Love Letter is a love story across time, Civil War and the present.

    The main characters are engaging and the acting very good. The plot unfolds in both the 1860's and present time. There is action that relates to the main story. Later in the movie it becomes clear why these two particular people contact each other across the 100 year gulf. The supporting cast is also well done. This is one of the best of the across time love stories.
