    Super affordable but hefty little boom arm!

    I've seen manufacturers tout their booms as "ideal for kick drums and amps" but upon reviewing their specs you discover the boom length is a ridiculous 16". What?? This one truly is ideal for smaller amps and kick drums. No counterweight means it really does cram into tight areas when married to a sturdy, weighty base like the Audix MB Stand I'm using. The On-Stage Mini Boom is built shockingly well especially for the price, supporting my hefty original CAD E-100 mic without fail. Solidly crafted with reassuring metal. Unassumingly heavy in your hands. Plenty of teeth means tons of choices to find the optimal angle for you. Standard thread sizes. Super satisfied with this purchase.

    very utilitarian

    I've purchased a couple of these over the years, so I guess I must like them. They don't replace a conventional boom, but they certainly offer a nice option for the limitations of a conventional mic stand. The question about "enjoyable" seems out of place with a lot of reviews, this one included. I enjoy eating ice cream, this device simply made performance a bit easier.

    Good boom

    These On-Stage posi-lok booms are so enjoyable...lock 'em and forget 'em. There's no slipping, no readjusting, you can leave them up for weeks on end and they're still in position. I do a lot of home recording, and have for many years. I have one stand set up with a heavy mic, a pop filter and an acoustic shield...that a lot of weight hanging out in space, but these booms hold it all. (You must have the right type of mic stand to support all that weight on the end of a boom...but you already knew that.)

    posi-lok just works when nothing else will

    sometimes in the studio you have tight area's to place mics,like on drums and a full sized boom on a mic stand just won't work you need something small and able to get into tight spots and the on stage mini boom does that very well plus it never droops down because of the posi-lok function, once it is tightened down it is there till you loosen it and move it.
