    • Brings back the ability to record high-quality programs from live TV broadcasting.

      This is probably the best VCR I've ever owned or used. The recorded picture quality is outstanding , especially when using S-VHS tapes. I use it to record programs off of live TV broadcasts, and I use its editing capabilities (enabled by its flying erase heads) to edit out commercials. Due to the fact that terrestrial broadcasts are now digital, it is necessary to used an external ATSC HD tuner/converter, but those are readily available on eBay and other places. Then after I have recorded a program (or programs) on 1 tape, I can then copy them onto a DVD using a separate DVD recorder. By using a Super-Video VCR, along with S-VHS tapes, I get a good-quality recording. So why don't I record shows directly onto DVDs? Because DVD recorders don't have the ability to back up a recording ...
