      Seems like the perfect lens.

I wanted a good every day, live on my camera lens. It was a big toss up between this and the canon 17-55mm 2.8. The fixed and lower aperture of the 17-55mm was the big plus of that lens. But ultimately I read a bunch of reviews and forum discussions and went with the 15-85mm. The extra range especially on the wide end is great. It has better IS. The pictures are super sharp. The only issue is in shooting in low light, however I have an external flash so it’s not a big deal. Plus I bought this lens in pristine used condition and the canon 50mm 1.8 plastic fantastic for cheaper than the 17-55mm. Very highly recommended lens.

    • Great lens for crop-sensor bodies!

I have owned this lens for several years now and I feel that I can always count on it to produce good image quality. While the lens is never crazy sharp like, say, the EF-50mm STM, it is sharp enough and, more importantly, never soft at any typical setting. Focusing is fast and accurate, the focal lengths covered are super useful, and the IS is quite good, allowing for some crazy slow shutter speeds for stills. Definitely recommended!

    • canon 15-85mm lens

Lens is just a little sharper than the canon 18-135mm stm lens but with the advantage of a 15mm wide end focal length. Focus is fast and accurate for moving subjects and the lens has little or no distortion or chromatic aberration. Overall the canon 15-85mm is usm is a good value. The 15-85mm is my primary walk around lens while i keep the canon 100-400mm mounted on the canon 7dii in my backpack for distant or wildlife shots.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

    • Great all around lens.

I'm slowly selling my older lenses and paying a little more for nicer lenses as well as condensing my collection. This lens is perfect for portraits or outdoor shots. It's kinda heavy but easy to get used to. I bought mine used to save a few bucks but it was is great condition and has a lot of life left!

    • Canon eos 15-85 IS USM - superb !

This lens in build quality and picture quality outperforms any efs lens ! Therfore it is around 900$ new and thetfore not so affordable . How ever , you can get it second hand in mint condition + a hood for about just 230$ This makes it a bargin !!! If you for instance consider the efs 18-130 as an all around lens , well it is not ! If you want more reach yor best alternative will be adding the efs 55-250 and if you want more wide angel you probably look for the efs 10-18 So you will have 3 lenses ! Imo the 15-85 outperforms the 18-135 in picture quality by far . So if you anyway need 3 lenses then the 15-85 at this bargin price is preferable . With 15mm you also dont really need the 10-18 .... I would dare to say that this lense is comoarable in image quality to a L lens. Highly ...
