Decent Performance but no where close to a Presto Heat Dish.. I bought this model in my rebellion against the high cost of a Presto replacement. It does have a couple of cool features we enjoy. Hi/Lo switch and it tilts forward or back for better heat aim

Flimsy and underpowered
Unless you're in a closet, there is not enough wattage for this heater to do any good. I replaced an older model that was built much better (metal), and worked just as well with 700 watts verses the 1000 watts this model is supposed to use. Things aren't made well anymore in almost any category, this being just one of them.

Gets the job done quietly
After the initial break-in time which is one or two days the heater is very enjoyable. Some lubricant used in manufacturing has to burn off during that time and it has a very strong odor. The best thing about this heater is that it is quiet! I appreciate the two different temperature settings, the low temperature setting being a little bit higher than other models similar to this - which is a good thing. My ceramic heaters which have a fan, work well but are just too noisy at night. The glow, when it is on high can take some getting used to when you're sleeping, but if you have it on low and it is closer to you, you feel the heat without the distraction of the light. And finally, the heat is the type that heats YOU , and goes into your bones - like the feel of sunlight - pretty good. It Heats objects much more so than the air.

A device that can keep you Warm
When it oscillates, it makes some noise & it's very annoying , so I just set it on the still mode. That's why I rated it as 3 stars because of the noise. It keeps me warmer better when I set it on the still mode because it concentrates the heat where it's directed. I usually set it to the low setting which is 700 watts for energy savings .
