About this product

Product Information

When you need to take making music to the next level, the Electro-Harmonix POG2 pedal may be just what you need. Easy to use yet packed with features, this polyphonic octave generator expands the capabilities of electric guitars. The POG2 is based on the original POG polyphonic octave pedal EHX released more than a decade ago, which earned worldwide acclaim due to its versatility and performance. Now with more options, this pedal by EHX allows you to create sonic landscapes of epic complexity with a single pedal. From 12-string guitars and orchestral walls of sound to dreamy swells and arpeggios, the Electro-Harmonix POG2 can do it all.The POG2 includes a wide array of functions you can use simultaneously to create the sound you want. First, you can add one and two octaves up to your instrument’s voice as well as one and two octaves down with independent sliders for full control of the resulting voice. A slider for the dry signal of your guitar is also included for a total of five independent controls. The resulting octave mix can make your guitar sound like a simple bass, a bright synth, a five-layered symphonic wall, and anything in between. The possibilities are endless.Adding to this signature functionality, this Electro-Harmonix polyphonic octave generator includes three powerful effects, each with an independent slider for full control of each one. The attack effect acts as a gradual delay for string picking or plucking action and is great for long swells and reverse-like sounds. The low-pass filter slider controls the cutoff frequency for further control of the tone and warmth of the resulting voice mix, which is great for imitating other instruments. Lastly, using the detune slider results in an interesting effect that is reminiscent of chorus and reverb, adding extra thickness to the audio signal.A bright LED at the top of the unit indicates the active combination of these effects, controlled via the dry FX adjacent button that cycles through them. Below, the Q button controls the resonance of the low-pass filter effect, dramatically changing the tonal quality for enhanced versatility. On the right side of the pedal’s face, the presets module allows you to edit the default sounds or create your own combinations of settings for long-term storage and quick recall. Up to eight presets can be customized and stored in the unit’s memory. Cycle through your presets effortlessly with the left footswitch. The neighboring LED will blink to let you know when a preset’s settings have been modified yet unsaved.Faithful to the Electro Harmonix user-friendly design, the controls are not only easy to use, but they are also sturdy and intuitive. This effects pedal features true bypass to ensure your guitar tone remains pristine when the unit is not in use, a function controlled with the right footswitch.Accessories include a power adapter that is ready to use with your pedalboard’s power supply or as a standalone unit in recording studios. Serious gear lovers will appreciate how every single note is tracked, processed, and reproduced without lag. With its attractive red and white enclosure, the POG2 by EHX is a durable and powerful polyphonic octave guitar effects generator.

    The most organic of all

I have tried several octave dividers - H9, Axe FX, Whammy DT, and in my opinion this one sounds and feels best - for what it does. Tracks wonderfully - even speedy legato passages - and doesn't wobble. The added effects are a nice welcome, and the 8 presets are a great way to store your favorite settings. The operation is very intuitive, no need to read the manual. POG2 takes up some space on the pedalboard - keep that in mind. The build quality is a bit on the cheap side - especially for the price - but other than that I absolutely love this pedal.

  • Super Fun

Lots of cool sounds can be made with this pedal. You can get organ type sounds and regular octaves. Fell in love with it instantly. The one I bought was used so it was a little beat up but not too bad otherwise I would have given it 5 stars

  • a small orchestra

I was looking for something that would improve the bottom end range on my guitar and came across a reference to the POG in a online discussion between some players. It sounded interesting, I read some reviews and found them convincing. I think its amazing. Logical, easy to learn, and a great collection of presets. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that I havent been able to line it up against any of the other polyphonics to do a side-by-side comparison with my rig.

  • Love the Sounds

Easy to add to pedal board, and the programable options are easy to understand and listen for. I use with guitar, bass and baritone guitar (crazy sounds). Small footprint and great that it has bypass. Don't want to overdo it with every song but cool enough. If you add in some heavy distortion it sounds pretty cool as well as some really echoy sounds. Watched a few videos on youtube to see what I was getting first but overall I love it.

  • Roger and The Edge plus

I wanted a pedal to mimic the 12-string jangle of Roger McGuinn's guitar in The Byrds' repertory. This unit admirably fills the bill and more. It will also mimic at least some of the octave and delay effects of The Edge, another favorite player of mine. All in all, it provides flexibility and great tones.
