The Englishman's flora
This is a wonderfully comprehensive compendium of lore about plant names. It is in fact the most extensive that I have ever seen, with etymological, mythical and medical forays into the literature going back six centuries in most cases and even to Biblical times in some cases. It is a great addition to my other texts on the flora of the UK
