Admired as much for their ambitious concept albums as for their progressive strain of metal, Coheed and Cambria switch gears on this release, delivering their most heartfelt, honest album yet. Raw feelings swirl within a mélange of emo, space-rock and melodies that approach power-pop: 'Unheavenly Creatures', 'Toys', 'Black Sunday', 'Queen of the Dark', 'Old Flames' and more. The Amory Wars, a series written by Claudio Sanchez, has been transcribed into a series of comic books as well as a full-length novel.
