I decided to type this up due to the majority of the reviews already listed offering, well, nothing. I bought the game on release and, while fun with friends, it falls flat in a number of areas. 1) It's rather buggy. Strange happenings like falling through the ring or simply gliding through the air, as well as the meter during a pin sometimes not showing up. 2) Online play can still get laggy. 3) Create A Wrester still looks the same as it did back in, what, 2009? 4) Reversals need a better mechanic. Practically broken and have been for years. That being said, there are some nice things to point out: 1) Playing with friends is still a lot of fun, whether in a 6-man tag/elimination chamber match, a championship scramble (bugs notwithstanding), or in a Royal Rumble. Protip: Fill a RR match with nothing but created and/or downloaded characters. Make sure all players enter under random. Fun times can be had. 2) Arena Creation. It adds a whole new feel to a match sometimes just by being in a new ring environment. So many created ones already available to download and so many are actually really well made. Give it a shot. 3) Controls are a bit simpler this year. Less focus on complication, in the future, would be of further benefit. 4) Superstar character models look better this year on some....let's make more work, yes, THQ? I had fun with the game for awhile, but, sadly, replayability is low and WWE Universe mode, combined with some of strange bugs in the game, just don't give me much of a reason to come back.Read full review
i had been dissapointed with last several smackdown games, but i read that WWE '12 was very good, so i decided to buy it... well... the graphics are certainly pretty impressive, as soon as i started trying to fight though, i couldnt! i could not figure out the new grapple system, so after navigating through some menus, i come across the "tutorials" i learned a little, but still not how basic grappling works... so i tried google.(im sorry, but when i have to search through forums to learn how to play a game, something is wrong) i tried the game over the next couple days, desperately wanting to like the game, but i just couldnt. along with the contols, the story mode seems extremely linear. cant even select which superstar to play as... my advice is to rent it first, because so many other people seem to like it, maybe you will too. but if you're like me, and have shyed away from the smackdown games lately. dont waste your time on this one.Read full review
The realism of the game kinda takes out the Arcady fun that the previous titles possessed. This maybe a good thing for people but I prefer the ps2 type of graphics and gameplay. The game itself is good, but if you grew up on PS2 or PSP wwe, this won’t feel similar. Overall it’s good fun and for 12 dollars you can’t go wrong with a classic.

An excellent, genuinely underrated game, combining the chaotic game engine of SVR 2011, with the Smooth tightness of what would go on to be, WWE 2K14, It's easily one of the best WWE Games released in the past dozen years IMO! Strongly recommended for any Wrestling Gamer out there. Especially if you grew up with this game like I did, and want to relive the memories all over again!
