You would never think that one pair of cutters could be so different from any other pair of cutters. But WOW what a difference. I’ve been building gundams and other models for years and never thought I would spend more than $10 or $12 on a pair of cutters. I can’t believe I’ve gone this long with out “god hand” cutters. BUY THEM RIGHT NOW IF YOU WANT THAT MUCH BETTER OF A CUT AND THAT MUCH LESS WORK OF SANDING AWAY THE NUBS. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

Cut like butter. Paid $40, but probably wouldn't pay more. Slightly different design than pictured. Instead of the limit pins on the side, these use a threaded cap screw. They are slightly smaller than I expected but they fit my hand well. Came with a tamper proof seal. Who knows if there are knock offs. Regardless, these work great. Really clean cut. Very important is that they don't pop the part off the sprue, launching it across the room. So effortless, a few times I wasn't even sure I had cut anything. Great . . . until they broke. Cutting side broke cutting soft plastic modding a model. Must have twisted it, but happened much too easily. Experienced Modeler. Might be ok if you only ever used it to cut material off the sprue. Can't recommend for the price paid.

These are amazing. They cut through the plastic on the runner like running a hot knife through butter. It takes absolutely no pressure, the blade does every bit of work and all you have to do to get with them is close the sides together. I got worried because a lot of people complained about breaks and called them cheap. I know now that they were heavy handing them and there are no design flaws whatsoever

This pair of sprue cutters costs about the same as gold, or so it seems, but they are WELL worth the price. They cut through plastic sprue like a knife through soft butter. They are an extremely well crafted precision cutting tool, and given how much a modeler uses their sprue cutters, investing in a good pair is a good idea. But these cutters aren't good, they are GREAT. Highly recommended for any serious modeler of plastic model kits.

The good news: this was definitely the most precise tool I've ever used to cut parts from sprues. The bad news: on my second kit using these nippers, while cutting a part off a sprue, a huge chunk of the tool just broke off. The price for the tool is over $50 US, and I expected it to have a reasonably life-span and warranty, but... I spoke with the retailer - Galactic Toys - and they said "because of the age of the order, we'll give you a 30% refund." I suppose that would have been reasonable if the tool had been a year old or older. But I received the tool in late September, and it broke in early December (it was less than three months old). I'll probably replace these with a Tamiya sprue-cutter since Tamiya products are always a pretty safe bet. And I'll think twice about purchasing from Galactic Toys again.Read full review
