About this product

Product Information

A fictionalised and highly realistic account of the battle to secure Hill 937 (aka Hamburger Hill), an objective which resulted in one of the bloodiest conflicts of the Vietnam War. Focusing on the exploits of 3rd Squad, 1st Platoon, Bravo Company of the 101st Airborne Division, it shows the extreme duress suffered by the soldiers involved, as they do their best to win a pointless prize in a war being fought without popular support and which - like the attempt to secure the hill itself - is destined to end in failure.

  • Disjointed story and extras running up a hill in a disorganised mob

I have read a few first hand accounts of this battle, I thought this is before CGI, they will have real aircraft, which were a major part of the battle, would be flying in this film. Well they did have one old Huey helicopter and old news footage of a couple of F4 Phantoms flying over a hill with fireworks imposed over the film. That was the highlight of this film. There is little relationship between this film and the actual battle, unless you thought the battle was in the hills of California with a bunch of extras attempting to run up a hill in a huge bunch. There was no real story, most of it was various soldiers having mental breakdowns, the only thing that was somewhat accurate was the language used, other than that it is one of the worst war films I have ever seen.
