Notes
Shane Dooley composes eloquent, psychedelic, post-rock inspired music by coaxing an astonishing range of tones from an acoustic guitar. A delightful disorientation is induced by his polyphonic tapestries where there is an improvisational wildness beneath inter-woven looped layers. Full immersion of the listener into a world where sounds tell stories and elicit deeply personal responses is the goal of Shane's music. Guest artists on Out of the Loop include Dan Beliveau on electric bass and Joe Lessard on violin. Shane is a Luthier (one who builds and repairs stringed instruments) and constructed the guitar used to record this album entirely with his own hands. Shane says 'this guitar is very special to me and has really been the catalyst for my musical style to emerge. It is not only the vehicle to deliver my music, it is a collaboration between the instrument and myself.'
