    RM AX1400

    This remote is programed on a PC and then downloaded to the remote via a USB port/cable. It is fairly easy to follow the on screen prompts. I had it work on Win xp, (and with a little work(Compatibility mode) on Win 7, win 8, Win 10 I can control 8 devices (With 4 buttons reserved for Express functions(macros)) but one of them is the TV(I did not research how to avoid the TV as the 1st device) so that leaves 7 more external devices. I am very happy with the results.

    Great remote, somewhat hard to program, program software only works in Windows XP

    I've used these remotes for the past 10 years. This will be my third one. After about 5 years of heavy use, the volume buttons start wearing out and you have to press them very hard to get a response. Hence, I need a replacement. The good: Almost unlimited programming capability. I have yet to encounter a remote of any kind that the AX1400 couldn't learn. Also, it has fabulous multi-step macro programming capability. And it can take on up to 12 individually programmed AV units. You can label the custom buttons you program so they will display in the window what their customized use is. It was relatively inexpensive when it first came out and now that it's obsolete, it's cheap. After getting the remote fully programmed and tested you can save the program to a file such that when I ...
