Mysterious and Suspenseful
This was written in 1981 under Koontz pen name, Leigh Nichols. It was revised in 1996. The story is a pretty simple, but there is lots of action and it keeps you wanting more. The plot is not centered on a pandemic, rather, it is centered on the death/disappearance of a young boy. I will not spoil the plot, you need to read it yourself.
