This little valve phono pre-amp is astonishing! It's hard to imagine better value for the money. The quality of the RIAA amplification and the way it handles my AT OC9 cartridge has blown me away. I wasn’t expecting much after watching some YouTube vids, but… wrong! It’s really good. In moving magnet mode it sounded great! Maybe not like a $40,000 tube amp but who would expect that? It sounds like a tube amp. Open, detailed, punchy, creamy etc. I’m using Alesis active monitors, but that would make little difference. And as a mastering engineer, I trust my ears. If you want an entry into valves, this is a good start. I’m sure the components are cheap but it works.
