A solid, reliable, compact external hard drive. No external power required, just plug it in and start transferring files. I'm using it media storage for my TV and it works like a charm

Fastest external drive I've ever used
In the past I've always bought empty drive enclosures and used old hard drives in them to store my data. Little did I realise how quickly hard drive transfer speeds had moved on from these old drives. This Seagate Expansion HDD was the fastest drive I've ever used. In less than an hour I'd pretty much filled it, something my old drives would have taken many hours to do. The drive being USB 3.0 capable might have had something to do with this. And what is better, it even worked with my DVD player, when some online articles said it wouldn't. In W indows, I just had to change the partition format from GPT (the new technology) to MBR (the old technology) and it worked perfectly. It's about an eighth the size of regular external HDDs and sits inconspicuously next to the TV, and doesn't even ... Hard to beat Seagate.
Seagate quality at a great price. The change to solid state drives by most OEMs now provides a chance to buy older style HHDs at a great price. Seagate, the current leader in reliable and affordable drives (in my opinion).
