Product Information

Step 1 books entice early readers with rhyme, rhythm, and repetition. Poor Dog. He's awfully hot But Mom won't share her lemonade. Cat won't share his shady spot on the porch. And Skunk's making a real stink about sharing his hollow log. What does a hot Dog have to do to get cool? Step 1 Readers feature big type and easy words. Rhymes and rhythmic text paired with picture clues help children decode the story. For children who know the alphabet and are eager to begin reading.

  • Love this one!

My 5 year old son was very excited about learning to read, but was quickly becoming frustrated at the complexity of it all. He checked this book out at the library and it was super easy. He read it the first time he tried. We wrote the words out and used them as flashcards. He reads it to anyone that will listen. It brought immediate gratification and encouraged him. He has sense been able to read more, but that first confident shot in the arm with this book, was what gave him the confidence, he could read! This one is a keeper!!
