My father had owned a similar hand cranked drill since the early 60s. It had nylon gears and eventually they broke and I threw the unit away. But I was always sad that I didn't have it. On a hunch I looked and found this unit on ebay. It's essentially identical, except this one has all metal gears and it should last a lot longer. Very very cool
