A pretty good event.
The opening contest of Backlash was a 6-Man Tag match including the Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray, D-Von, and Spike Dudley) against the X-Factor (X-Pac, Justin Credible, and Albert: This match was a pretty good opener for the show, in the end, The X-Factor had defeated the Dudleys, by giving Bubba a double super-kick. But the Dudleys had their revenge after putting X-Pac through a table with a 3D. 7/10 The next match was for the WWF Hardcore Championship, the current champion, Rhyno was putting the title on the line against Raven in a Hardcore match: A great match! Very Violent, lots of weapons, including a stop sign, trash can, chair, shopping cart, and even the kitchen sink. A very exciting bout, tons of innovative moves, and lots of outside action. Rhyno missed a gore on Raven and went ... William Regal: In this match, Jericho, had hit a lonsault on Regal, but before he could get a 3 count, the Duchess said that the time limit for round one had expired. Then Jericho got the Walls of Jericho and made Regal tap out, ut then the Duchess said that you could not win by submission. Then Regal hit Jericho with the Duchess' septor, and before he could get DQ'd the Duchess said that there were no disqualifications in a Duchess of Queensberry Rules match. Jericho finally grabbed the Duchess and gave her a Walls of Jericho only to get hit by a chair several times by Regal and then lost. 7/10 Next was Kurt Angle VS. Chris Benoit in a 30 Minute Ultimate Submission Match: This match was boring because when you put 2 of the biggest technical wrestlers against each other for 30 minutes, it's going to be a very technical match. It was back and forwards submission moves for 30 minutes until they were both tied at 3 wins a peice, when the bell rang. The referee made them go into over time under sudden death rules. Benoit got the crossface on Angle and made him tap, declaring Benoit the winner. 5/10 Next was, what I think as the match of the night, a Last Man Standing Match between Shane McMahon and The Big Show. It was a brutal fight between the 2 men. Big Show dominated most of the match until Test came out and helped Shane, he chased Big Show out to the stage and had Shane climb the top of the stage set up and jump off onto The Big Show. Test lifted Shane up which made him the winner. 10/10 Next was a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship. The Champion Matt Hardy, faced Christian, and Eddie Guerrero. It was very competitive, Edge and Jeff Hardy interfered and Jeff helped Matt win. 7/10 The next and Final Match was the overly hyped up Main Event. It was title for title, a Tag Match for the WWF Tag-Team Championships and the WWF and Intercontinental Championship. The contestents were Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin, VS. Kane and The Undertaker. A fast start but a quick change of pace for about a twenty minutes, the referee was later knocked out and the weapons were then brought in. Kane had the match won, but Mr. McMahon came in with a sledge hammer, Triple H took it and smashed it over Kanes damaged shoulder, causing Triple H and Austin to retain there titles and Take the Tag Titles. 5/10 All in all it was an OK event, if you have a large WWF DVD collection, this is a peice that you may want to add to your collection.
