    The item was advertised as new but it wasn't, and it wasn't the item in the photo. It arrived sealed and with no shipping damage. The parts that were broken off the PCB did not exist in the packaging, and could not have fallen out as they were far too large. Upon further inspection, there were also wear marks on every single connection point to indicate the item was not exactly new, either. Possibly tested, or installed once. I am currently unable to contact the seller directly.

    All Good!

    Wanted to upgrade an old PC. My video card failed so that gave me the reason to do it. Had e6300 so I ordered the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 running at 2.66GHz stock. Since it was a 775 board the replacement was fairly easy(some trouble with Intel board pins). Replaced video card and added AX network card. Wow what a difference. This old PC is just fine for what I do online now. Shipping was great and chip was fine. Motherboard accepted it from first boot. 4 cores running cool. Good to go now.

    basic upgread for old PC

    It's good for old PC that will maximize its use, by meaning of make most of your old PC. But personoly this CPU is pretty old and very soon will not handel things good. It's always good to have better then that for the same price, but if you don't do something massive with the CPU, then that can be great option to go for.

    Thermal Grease

    This item should, at least, include a suggestion, that installation will require thermal conductive grease. Even better a small packet of same included. Delays in installation could be avoided that way.
