Day of Honor with Captain Kirk
As a Star Trek fan, I have read, and own over 160 books. Certainly, the Day of Honor four part series ranks as some of the best of my collection. This book and the TNG Day of Honor by Diane Carey are especially well written. The premise of this novel is HOW the Klingon ritual of the Day of Honor was created. Kirk is trying to save a colony that is being attacked by unknown invaders. He is forced to team up with Klingons who are there laying claim to the planet at the same time. Without spoiling it, it is a great story. What this book, and Diane Carey's book do especially well, is to look at what it means to be an honorable person. This book is so well written that I actually used it to teach a class at a Catholic school. This book is a "must read" for not only fans, but for moral ... Treaty's Law
Treaty's Law is a great example of a classic Star Trek story. The people in the story are well described. All have lives before the adventure begins and will have lives after the story is over. It shows the Klingons as people instead as the enemy. This was a great book to end the "Day Of Honor" series. I recommend all four books in the series.
