The Nikon S220 is perhaps the BEST performing camera ive used to date. Its fast to power up and shut down and it has virtually no delay in "shutter speed". Ive been using this 1 week in all different lighting situations while on vacation, and it is flawless. It is also the size of a credit card and thinner than most wallets! Ive received numerous compliments and have given model numbers to 2 people who want one. Ive seen these for sale at major retailers for $130 on sale with a regular price of $150. The video quality is also remarkable, especially for something this size! I have great footage of Rolex GT cars racing at Watkins Glen before the NASCAR race was cancelled. Do yourself a favor....just buy it and get yourself a nice inexpensive accessory package here on eBay. You wont regret it!Read full review
I bought this for my mom to take with her to Nigeria and she LOVED it. Its the perfect size for her to put in her pocket or purse. and its very easy to function. even for someone who's only ever used a disposable camera like her haha the only thing she didnt like was that pictures not taken in natural light looked a bit grainy. but im sure theres a function to fix that that she just hasn't found yet. overall great camera! and a hell of a good price too! only 60 bucks!
I needed a camera to carry around in my purse. I have a Nikon D40 for my serious shots but that's not a camera you can carry with you day to day. This camera is so tiny it just fits (with camera case included). It takes pretty good pictures. They do have some noise in them so might want to make small adjustments in photo shop but for a point and shoot, I can't complain. All point and shoots have noise. It's the draw back for convenience. It will never replace my DSLR but it comes in handy as a day to day, don't want to miss that shot, camera. Like all point and shoots, it's not the quickest at taking a picture. There is a few seconds lag but that's the draw back of all point and shoot camera's. But I'm very happy that I purchased it. It's fun to use and it can go anywhere with you. Would easily fit into a shirt pocket. Small and cute. Isn't that the point of a point and shoot? And above all, it's a Nikon. I absolutely love all Nikon products. I have stuck with Nikon for years and have never been disappointed. They have amazing products.Read full review
Our second Nikon S220 purchase, this one lightly used. Our first camera's flash stopped working and we felt comfortable with all the accessories we have for the Nikon. Decent picture quality and a lot of extra features make this a good camera for different situations. The video feature comes in handy too. A little worry comes from all the S220 listed for parts only on ebay. If you can get a new camera for around a hundred and about fifty for a used one, they are a good deal. I dislike ebay for letting vendors list used camera's as NEW when they are not. I would recommend the Nikon S220 to a friend.
I was looking for a camera that would be easy for a beginner to use and get good pictures. I need a camera that gives a size picture that can be reduced to 1000 pixels and have good resolution. I liked the anti-movement feature. It's easy to carry around to take pictures on the go, although I will mostly be using it as a studio camera. I was impressed that the battery would charge so quickly so I can start using it immediately. The only thing I don't like is that I have to buy additional memory, but I think I have a friend who has an sd chip that will work and, additional memory is the least of my worries.
This little camera is AWESOME!! We bought it for her 7th birthday...thinking it didn't have a ton of features. Well, it does, as much if not more than my own $300 camera...and for less money. Its compact, easy to tote around, and easy enough that my 4 year old can take a picture with it and my 7 year old can fully navigate it! We purchase a memory card for it, as they're very inexpensive now, and I've found myself telling her that mine isn't working and I really need to borrow hers. I am FAR MORE THAN PLEASED with this purchase and this particular Nikon Coolpix S220 camera. She loves the purple "plum" color and I love the clarity of the photos and video. It even pics up decent sound. I would highly recommend this particular style to anyone - kids, moms and dads - its a great camera for a wide range of ages and uses. It has a rechargeable battery, which is great, as I'm still living in the world of expensive CRV3's and that is a pain in the...wallet. Love this camera...i can't say it enough.Read full review
I am really enjoying my new camera - the color of plum was great and the screen on the back is just the right size - I did have trouble saving the pictures on the computer until I figured it out as it was so different than my last camera - and I did save them somewhere and now can't find them and accidently deleted the pictures - It is easier to delete so now I need to be careful. The rechargeable battery is great - has a long life! It's a great camera
Very well made, very small and light camera. 10 mpixels is approaching professional level capability. I bought this one used and have not found anything wrong with it yet. It takes great pictures and has a very wide range of settings. Maybe too wide for some users. The menu is complex and is geared for computer savy persons and it has very small doors on the botton edge which must be carefully opened as not to break them to remove the battery and/or flash card memeory. It took me a while to get the battery out for inspection. It takes video with sound and can be used as a voice recorder. Problems or draw backs: Small, thin, and very slippery finish is easily dropped. Keep the lanyard on it or put it on as soon as you get the camera. If it ever gets dropped on a hard surface, that's the end of the camera. Complex menu for some users and the manual is very good, but thick. I work in electronics and I have no problem working with the firmware/software. Good points: One of the drawbacks is one of its best features. Small, light, very versatile point and shoot camera with a supperior imager chip at 10 Mpixels, the memory can be increased. It takes video with sound and comes with the cables to connect the camera to standard RCA type audio and video connections found on most DVD, TV and, sound systems. The battery charges quick and lasts a long time. It is threaded on the bottom to accept a standard tripod mount and has a timer to allow for delayed imaging. I give it a nine out of ten. I have never been disapointed with a Nikon product.Read full review
This is the perfect camera to take anywhere. It takes up very little space, takes great pictures and has a nice size viewing screen so you can preview all the pictures you have taken. I purchased my first digital camera several years ago and have just "outgrown" it. Not as easy to use as the new one I just purchased. I have taken a lot of pictures with it and am looking forward to my Grandson's wedding where I plan on taking a lot of pictures, downloading them to CD's so I can share them with some family members who cannot be at the wedding.
I very much like Nikon cameras, and after all their Coolpix commercials with Ashton Kucher, I have felt compelled to find one. In the commercials, they advertise extras that, to me, are useless. Like the cameras that you can write on your pictures using your finger or the one where you can take the picture by touching the screen instead of a button. I just want a good camera that is just a camera. What is nice aboout the S220 is the little details it takes care of. It has a vibration reduction feature, so if your hand isn't steady the camera will steady the shot for you. Its auto-focus is very good. The menu is user-friendly (I didn't get the manual with this one but I have figured a lot out on my own). The screen is huge, the camera is way smaller and thinner than I expected. It is about the size of a Blackberry phone. My wife loves the color. So all in all, the S220 is my recommendation if you don't want to pay a ton extra for touch screen extras that are useless for picture taking.Read full review
