The book is in "reasonable" condition! not vg condition as described- front cover permanent fold over on arrival, packed this way ? pages are yellowing. Seller may be best to place a description "proper" of actual book being sold on the listing with photos so buyers know what they are receiving for the price paid.

  • Easy build accessories

A great book full of easy to follow instructions, I expected the book to be a bit 'tongue in cheek', but it really is quite practical, and doesn't require high levels of skill to follow. Recommended.

  • Promises a lot but delivers little.

Although a promising title and published by Haynes, once read, this book contains very little useful information. It deals solely with the project as built by the author and does not look at the many various options when building both narrow and standard gauge railways in the garden. The sections dealing with contruction of the various buildings is little more than for basic "dolls houses" and are too toy like. Again it does not look at the various methods of building nor does it deal with electrics as the railway of the book appear to be only steam operated. There are other books around that deal with this subject is more detail. On a positive note the illustrations are very good as you would expect from Haynes

  • Excellent book. Well written.

Hi. Bought this book having recently got into narrow gauge garden railways. It is full of useful hints and tips and ideas for making model buildings and rolling stock etc. I would recommend it for anyone who is new to narrow gauge garden railways.

  • A must for starting out with garden railway - fair value.

Nice book as you would expect from a Haynes manual.Plenty of illustrations and diagrams. Mainly deals with making various railway type buildings and the work in the garden. Good.
