The Galaxy Flamethrower edition high-performance SSB AM CB radio features 40 channels and a bright blue LED display. The frequency is displayed in five digits, and the meter has four scales. Those scales include SWR, power, S meter, and modulation percentage. It features variable power output control, volume control, a talkback circuit, a roger-beep function, and noise filter. The system is prewired for FC 347 frequency counter, and it has a three-position tone control switch. You can control the mic gain and the dimmer with this device.

Great unit with all the features
I originally read the reviews and found good and bad. My main reason for buying this radio was for the backlighting of the face plate. Apparently there were several reports of the lighting not operating properly or at all. So when I received my radio, that was one of the first things I checked, and of course it didn't work. I was ready to send it back. So after two days of trying and cycling the dimmer switch it began to work so I let it be and it has worked fine ever since. Overall it's a great unit and I hope that concern never comes back. Overall it checks all the boxes, I would buy it again. Thanks, JoeI originally read the reviews and found good and bad. Low power, no USB modulation
Receive function works fine. On AM the transmitter output is 0.5 to 1.0 watt as shown with 2 meters that correctly read the output of another transmitter. It should be 3.8 watts. There seem to be no modulation on USB. LSB seems all right. Causes unknown.

Great Radio, a little pricey though
This is a great radio, and I really like the blue LED lighting. The meter could be a little brighter, but, at night..I wouldn't want it blinding me either. I bought it for the built-in Roger Beep. My only dislike is that the microphone does not plug in the front/face of the radio...it's on the side. This radio is wider and longer than Cobra 29s, just fyi...

Good radio but?
So after buying this I read more reviews about this radio and not to many had good to say. Manley about the price. I liked the layout on this radio better than some, and the fact that it has been gone through. It has everything I wanted in a CB. Once again I'm having SWR meter problems. comparing to other meters hooked up, I'm showing that the radio meter is off a little. I'm going to call the manufacturer and find out what to do. Everything else is good. Power, modulation all check out good. It maybe priced a little high BUT if it's what you want and like then $ doesn't matter.So after buying this I read more reviews about this radio and not to many had good to say. I bought a Galaxy Flame Thrower C.B. radio, I love C.B. radio and I have always settled for the really cheap brands well this time with a lot of looking at the brands out there and there are a lot them ! I thought come on give the Galaxy a try, and I found out there are a couple of them as well ! I got to looking at the Flame Thrower and right there I decided to buy the Galaxy 959 b Flame Thrower, wow am I glad I did ! The only thing I don't like about it is that the knobs are to close, and there are a lot of them !
