Good closed-back can, but very expensive with better alternatives
I would start off saying that if you do not like the sound of closed-back cans that these will not appeal to you. I thought perhaps that at this price and technology that it might sound more like a semi-open with good noise-isolation. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, these still sound like closed-back cans. However, many people, including myself, enjoy the sound of closed-back cans and in this regard I would say they don't disappoint. Fostex made the last generation of Denon headphones that were pretty unanimously loved by closed-back listeners. These are better than the D7000s but I would never buy these or feel good about having them as there are cheaper alternatives, such as the TH-600s, as well as incredible headphones, such as the HD800 and HE-6 are roughly equivalent in ... I would start off saying that if you do not like the sound of closed-back cans that these will not appeal to you. That led to high expectations for the TH900s and when I heard them off a great system, I was really surprised that other than a little more clarity, there were pretty bland and definitely not worth the added cost. The owner of the TH900s actually commented that he liked the aesthetic appeal of the TH600s more than the TH900. I'm sure that the TH900s are made of better materials but to some extent they come off feeling cheap, especially when comparing to something like HD800, LCD-2, LCD-3, etc. If money is no object and you want the best closed-back cans then I would say you would probably enjoy these. However, I would suggest purchasing both the TH900 and TH600 and see if you really feel that the difference is worth the additional expenditure.

It's pretty good
I wasn't sure if refurbished products were any good, but I decided to pull the trigger anyways and get one. My product came in the original packaging. The product itself is seemingly undamaged and functions like new, but the boxing itself is pretty dinged up. Worth the $300 savings.
