    A simple yet important book

This book about autism written by someone with autism is a quick and simple read but an important one. I have no personal connection with anyone with autism, which is one of the reasons I was draw to this book. I learned of the author from an documentary and felt I needed to learn about autism from some who first hand knows about the condition. The book is written simply with each page its own chapter - a simple question and answer. If you have someone close to you with autism you need to read this book. If you do not and know nothing of this condition, you too need to read this book.

  • Tear jerker....

If you ever wanted to get into an autistic child's mind.... this will take you. I'm only about a quarter in, and your heart will break, and you'll become the empathetic person on this Earth.... EVERYONE should read this book. Then the people that "stare" rudely at a child they think is having a "tantrum", they will think twice.

  • A must read!

This book is a must for every parent, caregiver, DSP and teacher of non verbal autistic teenaged boys! It is easy reading and laid out in one and two page chapters, each answering a specific question. Though every child is different and does different things for different reasons, this book will help us neuro-typicals identify with the kids whom we love so much but struggle to understand. I bought one for every educator on our team and all of them echo my sentiments!

  • Insightful

I work with kids who have autism and found this a wonderful read. It helped me understand my client more from her perspective. I read the book twice after getting it out from the library. Then I purchased a copy for myself and it is now making the rounds with all my co-workers. Highly recommended. Fast read.
