Synopsis
James Cameron's Titanic chronicles the cinematic re-creation of the most legendary ocean disaster of all time as seen through the eyes of a master storyteller. Set against the ship's fateful maiden voyage, Cameron's much anticipated motion picture epic weaves a rich human tapestry of romance, heroism, tragedy and greed. Within these pages is a detailed look at the monumental effort by thousands of artists and craftsmen to accurately re-create the "ship of dreams," including the full-size exterior replica of the ship and the 17-million-gallon tank facility designed to sink her; a wealth of detailed interior spaces; new discoveries from Cameron's 1995 dives to the wreck, some two-and-a-half miles below the ocean surface; studies of the ornate wardrobe, makeup and hairstyles that defined the look of the "Gilded Age"; an overview of the film's groundbreaking visual-effects work; and in-depth interviews with cast and crew, all referenced to the historic events of the Titanic's maiden, and final, voyage.

  • James Cameron's Titanic by Douglas Kirkland, Marsh

I bought it for my daughter who loves the movie "Titanic" and loves anything concerning it. She loves to read about it and of course loves the pictures in the book. Whenever she sees anything about it she wants to buy it. She has an allowance that she gets and she chose to buy this book. She is proud of this book since she shows all her family members and friends. She has bought a picture of a scene from the Titanic, bought imitation Titanic tickets and menus that were at the time of Titanic. Thank you for story. It is very emotional and helps each of us that we need to live every day like it will be your last. Also, to appreciate the people God brings to us in our lives so that we can learn about love and enjoy the relationships that we have with each other. Thank you to the authors for ...

  • The behind-the-scenes photos are great, but Cameron's text doesn't compare.

I bought this book as a supplement to the special 3-disc edition of the film, after being intrigued by the behind-the-scenes work that went into making this movie. The photos alone are worth the purchase. While Cameron's text isn't always the most interesting to read, the photos throughout are amazing to look at. There's a nice mix of historical photographs and comparison movie stills. Furthermore, excerpts from the script lend to the backstory of how the screenplay evolved over time. In the end, I felt that this book actually seemed a little too brief. However, the large format ensures that no photo space is wasted. An amazing read for any fan of the film.

  • Deluxe Photographs Fest !

A real lavish book for photo book and Titanic lovers out there, remarkable screenshots included as well of all the behind the scenes, explained in detail, just great!

  • Not what I expected

I was looking for a hardcopy book to read not a book about the making of the film.
