Bitte Sehen Sie den Bericht in Deutsch im 2.Teil. This is an excellent lens, especially for the price. It can be used 4-fold – with 4 different focal length as a very fast f/1.4 lens: 40mm on a 35mm Leica or Voigtlander or Hexar RF or Leica M or SONY NEX9 or VG900 52mm on a Leica M8 60mm on an APSC digital Body like NEX or Fuji 80mm as short tele for Portraiture on a m4/3 like Olympus M1 or Panasonic GX7 In my opinion it is soft at f/1.4, however each lens is a tool, thus using it right will give you desired special effects. Besides the versatility in Focal Length depending on the body used, it has more +es: + Tiny and light + excellent mechanical quality + price! Nun, das ist wohl auch gut zu verstehen, sodass ich eine Uebersetzung sparen kann. UNBEDINGT EMPFEHLENSWERT!
I recently started using a Sony mirrorlesss camera with full frame called the A7ii ( A7 Mark ii). This is the camera that has OSS (Optical SteadyShot Stabilization). The full frame means that the optical sensor measures 35mm, the same dimensions of a 35mm film negative from the good old days before digital photography. This is significant because some of the great 35mm camera lenses from other camera manufacturers are perfect for FF (Full frame) as long as you can fit them on the Sony e-Mount cameras. Voigtländer uses the Leica M-mount system. Fortunately, there is an inexpensive adaptor that does this (Leica M LM Lens to Sony E-Mount NEX-3 NEX-5 NEX-3C NEX-5N NEX-VG10 Adapter Ring by Fotasy). The Voigtländer 40mm f1,4 is a very lightweight lens with a very fast 1,4 f-stop for a great Bokeh (intentional background blur). The only difference between the Voigtländer lens and the native Sony lenses, is that you must use manual focus. I am still getting used to using the focus ring. I am fortunately mastering this with the help of the focus peaking feature of the Sony 7 series cameras. Focus Peaking allows you to set a high intensity red indicator that appears when the subject is in focus. I just did a photo shoot of nearby Chastain Park in Atlanta with my Voigtländer 40mm f1,4 manual focus with an e-mount adaptor. The shoot went well of the landscape of the park. I tried various combinations of f-stops, scene composition and lighting. In Lightroom 5.7, I did not have to do much editing at all. My photos were sharp with good color rendition, and I did not see vignetting or cropping in the corners, nor lens flaring. I will have to get used to the manual focusing, as I am not fully there yet. The Voigtländer is very close to the Leica lenses, and I understand that they are actually built in Japan in the same factory as Zeiss lenses. The big plus is that the lenses are very reasonably priced for the quality of the glass. I would recommend these lenses without hesitation.Read full review
It’s a good lens! Just not great. Reasonably sharp when stopped down, relatively soft all around at 1.4. The copy I have seems to stick a bit when rotating the focus ring on occasion but I feel this is more due to using it on the X-T1 & T2 with it’s different form factor. I have not had the chance to use it on the Leica yet. Overall seems to be a great value for the money and will produce some stellar images, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one again.

This is a great lens for someone who wants to get into the M mount systems. Since there are only a few cameras that have frame lines for the 40mm field of view, it will take some getting used to to frame your shots. Overall the build quality is incredible. This truly rivals the Leica lenses as far as build quality goes. The only thing I found is that it is kind of soft at F 1.4. Instead, shoot at f/2 and this lens becomes sharp as a tack
If you are looking for a vintage vibe in your film or digital photography, this lens is a great value. When at f1.4 you get a very nice glow effect but can still produce sharp images. Stopping down, you get a very sharp and serviceable lens. The single coating variant allows for some flare and reduces overall contrast which makes this an interesting lens for doing black and white photography. I shoot this on digital primarily, on a Leica M typ 262 (24MP) or on a Fujifilm XPro3 (26MP). In both cases I use it for street photography. I would not use this as a studio lens. See attached shots taken with Fujifilm X-Pro3 and the 40mm Nokton Classic in various conditions.

40mm might seem odd, but this little gem replaces both my 35mm and 50mm most of the time. It's a great focal length for carrying around town. Not only does the focal length make this convenient, but its size and weight are near nothing, making my Sony A7R easy to carry. I've coupled it with the Voigtländer Close-Focus Adapter, and I get stunning, sharp, bokeh-filed results. I highly recommend this lens.

I own the Voigtlander R3A and this lens has been perfect with that camera. It's compact, built well and is sharp as a tack. I definitely recommend this lens.
