The view is sharp out to the edge in my XT8G, and the zoom works well (although it's not quite parfocal - be prepared to adjust your focus a bit after you zoom) but the FOV is pretty narrow - especially at the 24mm setting. I'm just starting to try photography with it using my Canon EOS 1000D, and even though I'm new to astrophotography I'm already getting decent images and learning a lot. There's some vignetting when using a t-ring, the EOS and this eyepiece - I've ordered some M42 extension rings and will see if that helps with that and with image sizing. The built-in threads on the Celestron 8-24mm zoom eyepiece makes it a good tool for Newtonian owners who want to use their DSLR camera with their telescope.

Nice zoom eyepiece 8 to 24mm. It's a convenient way to zoom in to see better features. Works great on the moon and planets. It has some weight to it but not as bad as you may think. I use it with my Nexstar 5i and it gives nice views.

Im new to backyard astronomy and bought a used scope with no eyepieces. I got this one along with some other plossls... This thing blows away the competition. Way better than the omni. Worth the money you spend on these things and am switching to use x-cels for all my viewing needs going forward. The FOV is amazing and the zoom is so easy to use. Its a heavy piece so it may not work in smaller scopes with cheap mounts.

The kit is mint condition as advertised! New in fact. It is a great edition for my 6" Celestron Newtonian. The eyepieces are good and the filters open a new door(window). π The case is sturdy, keeps everything together and relatively safe. I would by from again.

Works as stated, very happy. Eliminates the need for many of my eyepieces. I use it with my Astromaster 130EQ w/ a Ecel 2X Barlow. Seen the rings of Saturn, Jupiter, extreme close ups of the Moons surface, then pan out from 8 to 24mm without refocusing.
