I should have looked more closely at the first picture that does show quite a bit of obvious crazing when I zoom in on it. It IS my fault for not seeing it. The seller did disclose the imperfections by uploading a zoomable picture. He/she also accepted my lower bid. I should have realized by that that there was something wrong with the plate. There were no packing or shipping issues except shipping was a little high.
