Reviews
"Anthony Gonzalez, the man behind M83, has an obvious concept: a larger, grander gesture of his artfully crafted, heavily nostalgic ambiance, admittedly drawing inspiration from other large-scale releases...", 3 stars out of 5 -- "When it's not luring you to the dance floor with thrilling 1980s pop, M83's widescreen music either sounds like a lost John Hughes movie or gets trippy...", Ranked #19 in Spin's 'The Top 40 Albums Of 2011' -- "The results bring to mind a European art film, one taking place in an idealized past where innocence is only an illusion away.", "M83 mastermind and gauze-pop aficionado Anthony Gonzalez wraps hooks and hallucinations in bubbly melodies..." -- Grade: B+, "A pervasive dedication to heart-swelling melodrama is M83's gift....The album is full of goose-bump moments...", 3 stars out of 5 -- "HURRY UP...employs banks of multi-tracked vocals, waves of epic Sigur Ros-style synths and a celestial production."
Additional Information
Sprawling, lush, and retro-futuristic, Anthony Gonzalez's double-album statement helped set the tone for synth pop in the 2010s.

  • Top favourable review

    Good music - electronica.

Bought this for one track only - Outro - as it was the theme for "Versailles" but was pleased with a number of other tracks.

  • French chillout/new wave (mostly English language)

You will recognise the Made in chelsea theme, however there is much to enjoy in this CD, well worth investigating

  • Perfect for that dreaming moment.

A very interesting listen, great tracks, a good all round performance, nice and easy on the ears, just relax and enjoy. A must for genuine music fans.

  • Nice change

Just put this CD in the car and what a great change from all the Christmas music. Fabulous sounds.
