Perfect replacement.
I ordered this alarm to replace one of the six alarms in my house. The FireX alarm that was replaced was obsolete and no longer made. Kidde warns that the replacement may not communicate with the old remaining alarms, so I was preparing myself for the added expense of replacing all of the alarms in my system. But the initial test proved that the replacement per formed well and did communicate with the existing old models. Great product!
